Save Money, Save the Planet

After watching an episode of Wasted on Planet Green I started thinking about my family's carbon footprint. What are we doing to reduce our imprint? Actually I think we're doing pretty good. So far we:
  1. Recycle
  2. Have a compost pile
  3. Use natural cleaners
  4. Use microfiber cloths and dusters
  5. Use daylight instead of lamps
  6. Set the thermostat at 80 in the summer and 67 in the winter
  7. Wash clothes in cold water (except sheets)
  8. Have some energy star appliances
  9. Turn off light when we leave a room
  10. Use CFL bulbs
  11. Use cloth napkins when possible
  12. Use reusable container for leftovers and lunches (instead of baggies)
  13. Drive fuel efficient cars
Most of these things are little changes, but it all adds up to make a big difference.

Here's my family's data:
Emissions Comparison Tons of CO2 eq/year

42 Your Estimated Emissions (3
person household)

80 United States Average per Person(3 person
household)

17 World Average per Person(3 person household
